To become a teacher in the public education system…
THE CHALLENGE IS TO BE BETTER THAN THE BEST ONES!!
The INTERAULA training model is designed to develop all the competencies and knowledge required to achieve excellence in the practice of this teaching specialization. To accomplish this, we focus on the best way to demonstrate these competencies before the examination board that will assess us.
Our goal is for candidates to present themselves before the board with a rigorous, professional, and competent profile, which will undoubtedly increase their chances of obtaining a permanent teaching position in this specialization.
We constantly keep in mind that this preparation is for a highly competitive examination, and that the level to surpass is set by the best prepared candidates.
Therefore…
YOU MUST BE BETTER THAN THE BEST ONES!!!
A 25-topic syllabus covering the essential aspects of this teaching specialization, including:
Curriculum development for this subject area, foreign language teaching methodology (English), Activities design, the four core language skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing, Legislative and organizational aspects related to the functioning of schools and the teaching profession.
The syllabus we will work with has been rigorously developed, is fully updated, and is exclusive to InterAula.
If changes occur in future examination, either in the syllabus or in other parts of the examination, InterAula guarantees the adaptation of its materials and training planning to those changes.
Due to the difficulty involved in solving practical cases and the importance they have in the first exam, we dedicate the time and effort they require.
Candidates will receive various examples of practical cases related to English language teaching methodology. These will include: The formulation of each case, detailed solutions to them and suggested frameworks and outlines for solving them.
As is well known, candidates must prepare and defend a complete Teaching Plan for a full academic year, written in English and adapted to the grade and level they choose.
Using the documentation provided by INTERAULA as a basis, candidates will gradually build and internalize their Teaching Plan and learn how to defend it, with continuous feedback and supervision from their instructors.
INTERAULA provides numerous complete Learning Situations that can be incorporated into the Teaching Plan. These are accompanied by teaching materials and resources that support them, helping candidates deliver a clearer and more rigorous presentation.
Throughout the course, exams in English will be proposed, and their completion is mandatory for all candidates. These will include: Written exams on the syllabus topics and written exams on practical cases. All exams will be corrected and evaluated by the instructors according to the rubrics established by the Ministry of Education in the latest official exam.
Additionally, oral exam simulations in English will be conducted, including: Presentation of a Learning Situation and defense of the Teaching Plan. This allows candidates to practice oral discourse, structuring their knowledge appropriately and developing the communication skills required to successfully pass the oral examination. Each student will deliver at least two oral presentations during the course. For both the defense of the Teaching Plan and the presentation of Learning Situations, candidates will receive model speeches that they can later adapt to themselves.
Training will include proposals that allow future teachers to practice didactic planning, including formulation of key competencies and specific competencies, selection of basic knowledge and definition of assessment criteria.
The training sessions are organized so that candidates progressively develop all the competencies and knowledge necessary to obtain a teaching position.
We have scheduled the sessions so that they are as well-structured as possible. In each session, different aspects or knowledge areas that make up the competitive examination will be addressed. Thus, each session will include:
- Presentation and explanation of a syllabus topic.
- Clarification of doubts regarding previously studied topics.
- Presentation of the relevant legal regulations.
- Analysis of practical cases and problem-solving strategies.
- Learning Situations: presentation and guidelines for their delivery.
- Partial development of the Teaching Plan.
- Simulation of the oral examination: defense of the Teaching Plan and oral presentation of Learning Situations.
